Who we are

This privacy notice describes how Copper Jetty, operated by Dr Colette Jeffrey as a sole trader, working with specialist partners on a project-by-project basis, collects and uses personal data when you visit our website or get in touch with us.

We are the data controller of any personal data you provide. The contact details for data-protection questions are at the bottom of this page.

What we collect

We collect personal data in three situations.

Contact form submissions

When you fill in the contact form on /contact/, we collect what you provide:

• Your name and email address
• The organisation you are writing on behalf of, if you tell us
• The project type you select
• The message you send

Submissions reach us through Netlify Forms and are forwarded by email.

Analytics

If you accept analytics cookies in our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. We do not use analytics for advertising. See our cookie policy for the specific cookies set.

Server logs

Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps short-lived access logs that record IP addresses, request times, and response codes. We use these logs only to operate the site and investigate security incidents.

Why we collect it (lawful basis)

We rely on two lawful bases under UK GDPR:

• Legitimate interest. For replying to contact form messages, keeping server logs for site operation and security, and direct correspondence about a project.
• Consent. For analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser or reopening the cookie banner from the footer.

How long we keep it

• Contact form submissions: up to 24 months after our last interaction with you, unless an active engagement extends that period.
• Analytics data: retained per Google Analytics defaults (currently 14 months) unless you opt out.
• Server logs: retained by Netlify under their standard policy, currently up to 30 days.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with a small number of service providers acting on our behalf as processors:

• Netlify, for hosting and form submissions (data hosted in the EU)
• Google, for analytics, only if you have accepted analytics cookies

If a project requires us to exchange contact details with a subcontractor or collaborator, we will tell you before doing so.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate
• Ask us to delete it, where the lawful basis no longer applies
• Object to processing
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk
