WAYFINDING

Design led by Research for people

About Copper Jetty
Founded by Dr Colette Jeffrey, my PhD explored why people get lost in buildings. An expert in developing unique strategies and designing inclusive solutions, I believe no one should feel lost or excluded from public spaces designed to welcome everyone.
I researched and wrote the official NHS Wayfinding guidance and have a unique understanding of both the challenges of rigorous academic research and of real-world, human-centred design.
Copper Jetty specialises in Healthcare & Education having completed 25+ hospital and university projects, but I also diagnosed wayfinding problems at Wembley Arena, Natural History Museum, Tower Bridge, The British Library, National Library of Wales, Heathrow Airport, Leeds and Brighton cities.
Alongside consultancy work, I love contributing to ongoing conversations around wayfinding through my research, writing, talk hosting, CPD workshops, and speaking at conferences.
I am very proud to be a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation and Honorary Member of the Sign Design Society in recognition of my sustained involvement in inclusive design & wayfinding.
